What Are Elden Ring Strength Weapons?

Elden Ring has a lot of weapons available for players to enjoy. However, each weapon has particular stat requirements before they’re used. In today’s case, Elden Ring Strength weapons require players to have a requisite amount of Strength before they can be used properly. They use Strength as a stat to hit hard and deal as much damage as possible to the player’s enemies.

What Is Strength Scaling?

Scaling is basically how a weapon’s damage increases based on the level of a player’s attribute. For example, Having a Strength Scaling of B means that you’ll have a good portion of your Strength Stat added into your damage in some capacity. The higher the scaling, the better the added damage is. Some of the starter weapons usually have a damage scaling of D or E, while the more powerful weapons will have Bs or As. In addition to this, players can also use smithing stones to upgrade their weapon scaling and damage. This is how some high-damage feats occur, like one-shotting bosses or clearing entire groups of enemies with 1 swipe. Either way, both are impressive.

15 Best Strength Weapons in Elden Ring

Best Common Strength Weapons in Elden Ring

Greatsword

Location: can be obtained in Caelid, Dragonbarrow. Move North-west to the route of the Caelem Ruins Site of Grace. The Greatsword is inside a chest in the back of a Carriage. Do note that it’s guarded by Giant Dogs. Massive, thick, and far too rough, it’s too big to be called a sword, more like a heap of raw iron. Right, other than the obvious Berserk reference, the Greatsword is a pretty good starting weapon even after the early game. Some would say that the main reason for using this weapon is due to the reference. However, the main draw for the Greatsword isn’t just for the memes, it’s also because of how great it is in terms of practical use. From its great moveset, decent scaling, great relevance in the late game, and versatile utility, the Greatsword has been a staple for a lot of Elden Ring players. In addition, any Ash of War can be placed on the Greatsword. This makes it an overall winner in terms of weapon usage. There are a lot of options for the Greatsword when Ashes of War are concerned. Lion’s Claw is a particular favorite for a lot of Strength Builds, however, Bloodhound’s Step has been a fan favorite for many players because of one thing: The ability to Sunpo all over the place.

Morning Star

Location: A broken-down wagon on the Weeping Peninsula. You can’t miss it since it’s by the road. The Morning Star is one of the more useful weapons that any Tarnished can get early in Elden Ring. There are a few reasons for this, specifically the ease of use and the fact that anyone can use it, especially if you two-hand. However, the main, pertinent reason is Bleed. Yes, the Morning Star, for some odd, weird reason, can cause Blood Loss buildup. Bleed is one of the best status effects to use in the early game because almost everything the player encounters is weak to it. In addition to this, once it procs, it shaves off a set percentage of the enemy’s HP. Combine this with its low requirements and easy-to-get location (Once you get Torrent), and you have a perfect weapon for either a Strength or Dexterity user. The fact that the Morning Star can inflict Blood Loss was used to great effect by several players to kill the momma dragon Greyoll in Caelid. Yes, it takes a few hundred hits to kill the dragon with this thing, but the moment the player does so, they get a good amount of runes, more if they use a Gold Pickled Fowl Foot. Last but not the least, just like the Greatsword above, the Morning Star can be imbued with any Ash of War that the player has available. Just like the Greatsword, Bloodhound Step is a great choice for obvious reasons.

Best Unique Strength Weapons in Elden Ring

Nightrider Glaive

Location: Boss reward for killing the Night’s Cavalry boss on the road between Bellum Church and the East Raya Lucaria Gate. The Nightrider Glaive is a different weapon type compared to the Greatsword with better scaling (C in the Strength stat compared to the Greatsword’s D) and a different move set. It has the same advantages as the Greatsword, is played similarly to the Greatsword, and can be buffed by spells and items just like the Greatsword. Combine this with the fact that it’s surprisingly easy to kill the Night’s Cavalry if you know how to cheese it. Well, you have a weapon that can shred early-game to mid-game content.

Ghiza’s Wheel

Location: Volcano Manor’s upper floor. Fight, and kill Inquisitor Ghiza’s phantom. For those people that miss the venerable Whirligig Saw, never fear, as FromSoftware and Miyazaki heard our prayers. Enter Ghiza’s Wheel, an utterly ridiculous weapon that does exactly as advertised. Ghiza’s wheel has a similar moveset to its Bloodborne counterpart. However, its main draw is the Spinning Wheel ash of war, which inflicts Blood Loss like nobody’s business. Overall, a weapon that no man should ever use because doing so is probably a war crime. But since this is a FromSoft game, we suggest you go wild.

Golden Halberd

Location: Limgrave, a few paces after encountering Varre. Defeat the Tree Sentinel to obtain the boss’s reward. The Golden Halberd is a pretty good reward for an annoying boss fight that you’ll unwittingly encounter. The fact that you accidentally stumble upon the Tree Sentinel the moment you go to the first landmark you see (The church) is a bit of a dick move. However, persevere enough, or more likely, farm enough levels and get more powerful, and you will kill the Tree Sentinel eventually. This feat will give you the Golden Halberd, which boasts good scaling on Strength and Faith with additional numbers on Dexterity. Combine this with its Golden Vow weapon skill, which gives a good buff to attack and defense, and you have something worth going for. Some of the more ridiculous one-shot Elden Ring stuff requires this alongside the Commander’s Standard to pull off. However, this weapon usually falls off pretty fast the moment you’re in the late game. Early to midgame? Yeah, this weapon rocks. But late-game enemies will laugh at you for using this weapon. This is still good for a side-weapon for its weapon skill, though.

Magma Wyrm’s Scalesword

Location: Ruin-Strewn Precipice north of Liurnia of the Lakes. Fight, and kill Magma Wyrm Makar. The Magma Wyrm’s Scalesword is another addition to the ‘Weird ass weapons that kick ass’ list. Mostly because of the ridiculous Strength and Faith scaling, which increases its damage. The other thing that makes this weapon cool is the Magma Guillotine Ash of War. An Ash of War which has you jump forward and slam the sword at your enemy, flinging magma everywhere. Combine this with a few additional buffs from talismans and spells, and you’ll have a party.

Prelate’s Inferno Crozier

Location: Fort Laiedd, close to the Seethewater Terminus Site of Grace. A guaranteed drop from a Fire Prelate using the weapon. Prelate’s Inferno Crozier is a very dangerous weapon in the right hands. A greathammer of fiery repute, the Fire Prelates that use this weapon are notorious for their fierce blows and blazing damage. With this weapon, you will be able to do the same thing. The Inferno Crozier’s weapon skill, in particular, needs an honorable mention. Because it can and will utterly destroy anyone, NPC or enemy player, with its charged bull rush to upward swing. In addition to this, the weapon can be imbued with any Ash of War as well. However, why exactly would you do this, given how strong its Weapon Skill is? The best option for this is to have a dagger in your offhand with a good defensive Ash of War, like Bloodhound Sprint. Then 2-hand the Crozier to use Prelate’s Charge. It’s a very good way to have a defensive and offensive option in both PvE and PvP. Oh, and if you don’t add anything to this weapon and keep it as is, you can then buff it with various spells and items to increase its damage.

Blasphemous Blade

Location: Mt. Gelmir. Defeat Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, to obtain Remembrance of the Blasphemous. Then go to Roundtable Hold to give it to Enia for the Blasphemous Blade. The next weapon on this list is the Blasphemous Blade, a good greatsword that can and will kick anyone’s ass. Its weapon skill, Taker’s Flames, is a great crowd clearer and boss fight destroyer. It has great scalings when maxed and goes well with a lot of Strength/Faith builds. Overall, a great weapon to obtain at any time in a playthrough.

Giant-Crusher

Location: Directly South of the Outer Wall Phantom Tree. Can be found in the back of a carriage. The Giant-Crusher is a massive greathammer that works exactly as advertised. It’s big, heavy, and very, very strong, especially if you put a Heavy Upgrade to it. When maxed out, it gives a ridiculously high S Scaling for Strength, which, combined with the 60 Strength requirement for using this weapon? Can get some ridiculous shenanigans. Pair this with the already mentioned Golden Halberd and a few other items and buffs and you can defeat any enemy or boss in 3 hits or less.

Death’s Poker

Location: Wait for nighttime and go directly Southeast of the Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank’s Site of Grace. Find and defeat a Death Rite Bird to obtain a boss drop. The Death’s Poker is another decent Strength weapon that can be obtained in the midgame if you know where to look. Once gained, this poker can do some devastating damage, especially if you also added some Intelligence and Dexterity to your build. The former buffs up Ghostflame Ignition, while the latter increases your weapon damage significantly. Death’s Poker is a pretty mixed weapon, but it can carry the player throughout a massive chunk of the game if upgraded and built correctly.

Starscourge Greatsword

Location: Wailing Dunes. Defeat Starscourge Radahn to obtain Remembrance of the Starscourge. Then go to Roundtable Hold to give it to Enia for the Starscourge Greatsword. Radahn’s main weapons are absolute beasts when the player is building their character with them in mind. This enormous Greatsword is usually wielded with another copy, which the weapon provides the user. This means it benefits from a pretty unique moveset that can dish out a lot of damage. In addition, its Weapon Skill, Starcaller Cry, is a 2-part weapon skill that pulls enemies into a massive AoE explosion. Players can also just use the pull if they want to fake out enemy players. Overall, its main usage as a PvE weapon is pretty good, especially against groups of enemies with Starcaller Cry. However, it’s usually not recommended to use the Starscourge Greatsword against bosses due to the slow windup of its attacks.

Best Legendary Strength Weapons in Elden Ring

Grafted Blade Greatsword

Location: Castle Morne in the Weeping Peninsula. Obtained after defeating the Leonine Misbegotten boss. This weapon is probably the first legendary weapon you’ll ever get in an Elden Ring playthrough. After all, it’s pretty easy to get due to Castle Morne being easily accessed. Don’t let that fool you. This Legendary Armament is a legitimate threat to the unaware. Combined with its great scaling, massive damage, and the Oath of Vengeance skill that gives an increase to all attributes and poise. All in all, a good weapon to have either as a main or side for the buff its Weapon skill gives.

Ruins Greatsword

Location: Redmane Castle Plaza as a boss drop after defeating the Crucible Knight + Misbegotten Warrior dual boss. Cannot be accessed while the Radahn Festival is ongoing. The Ruins Greatsword is a good legendary weapon that players can obtain relatively early. Its high-strength scaling allows it to be an utterly devastating colossal weapon. However, the weapon truly shines when it’s fully upgraded, as it’s one of the weapons in the game that get an S scaling. This can lead to some utterly ridiculous damage spikes that, when combined with buffs, can defeat bosses with ease. The Wave of Destruction weapon skill is also really interesting, as it’s a wave of pure gravity magic that bursts forwards. Great for wrecking someone’s day. The weapon’s main drawback, however, isn’t in the weapon itself but in how someone obtains it. After all, defeating a Misbegotten Warrior and Crucible Knight at the same time isn’t someone’s idea of a good day.

Dark Moon Greatsword

Location: Cathedral of Manus Celes as a reward for progressing the questline of Ranni the Witch. Usually, players will have gained the Starscourge Greatsword before getting the Dark Moon Greatsword. The Dark Moon Greatsword is a bit of a unique case on this list as its primary attribute is Intelligence, not Strength. However, it’s still a really good weapon overall for anyone who specs in both Intelligence and Strength. Combine this with the additional ranged attack it has when Moonlight Greatsword is a good way to hit enemies at ranged. All in all, a good option for those that want to expand their Elden Ring repertoire.

Marais Executioner Sword

Location: The Shaded Castle. Dropped after defeating Elemer of the Briar. The Marias Executioner Sword is a bit of a unique weapon. For one, it has a really good scaling in Arcane, which is a stat that isn’t usually talked about in Elden Ring but is very interesting to see regardless. However, the main draw of the sword is going to be its Weapon Skill, which straight-up fires a corkscrew attack after charging for a few moments. The attack in question will deal continuous damage throughout its animation, so catching an enemy off-guard with it is very possible. All told, a great weapon and a vicious one to get hit with.
